Dual enrollment includes a variety of programs through which high school students are enrolled simultaneously in both high school and college to earn both high school and college credit. Such programs make college more affordable for families and introduce students to higher level coursework before they immerse themselves in college life. Teachinghistory.org (National History Education Clearinghouse) offers resources to teachers in multiple ways.  Three sections outline teaching materials, history content, and best practices in teaching history.  There are links for elementary, middle, and high school teachers, with everything from complete lesson plans to general outlines of historical events and skills.  You can also access research on the state of history education in the country, as well as a blog and the teachinghistory.org community.

As state and local education agencies increasingly focus on serving educators with their data systems, a common challenge has arisen: identifying the critical knowledge and skills needed by teachers and administrators to use data effectively. Many states are creating data literacy and data use training programs for pre- and in-service educators without a common foundation on which to base the content. In addition, several state education agencies and educator preparation programs have begun communicating about how to create a stronger alignment between pre- and in-service training for educators regarding data use.

The Data Source Audit was created to help educators, administrators, and leaders analyze state, district, school, and student outcomes related practice data sources. The topics that are analyzed throughout this process include prevalence of data, access to data, and purpose and use of data.

The Wisconsin Guide to  Implementing Career-Based Learning Experiences (CBLEs) clarifies "work-based learning experiences" which districts may offer students as  part of a comprehensive Academic and Career Planning program.

This case study is one of three describing the development and implementation of social and emotional learning (SEL) integrated with career and workforce development efforts in Delaware, Kansas, and Wisconsin.

Wisconsin’s journey is an exemplar for other states looking to do this work. While every state has its own context, Wisconsin’s emphasis on developing inter-agency and cross-sector collaboration, leveraging strong foundations of existing career and workforce development efforts, and supporting practical implementation at the district level are key elements of systemic integration of SEL.
