5th Grade Historical Literacy Curriculum outlines the content of social-studies integrated units taught within the readers' and writers' workshop framework and taught daily for 90 minutes. Each six week unit contains standards, teaching points, vocabulary, and assessments. Readers' and writers' workshop naturally differentiates for all learners. By June of 2020, each unit will have a slide deck associated with it that contains the teaching points, integrated grammar work, vocabulary, and strategies for partner practice. Our district places careful emphasis on vocabulary, as we have a high percentage of English Language Learners.

The teacher has picked themes based on social studies standards, and a read-aloud novel based on social studies serves as the mentor text for writing and reading skills. More social studies content is addressed in reading through teaching nonfiction reading skills and discussion.

A semester long project with 4 weeks of book study, additional research and a final presentation.

The ASK exams are an industry certification that students can take and they are also listed on the approved list for CTE Incentive grants. There are 5 different exams that students can take: Fundamental Business Concepts, Fundamental Marketing Concepts, Concepts of Finance, Concepts of Entrepreneurship and Management, and Fundamentals of Ethics.

The Fundamental Business Concepts would be great for any student that has taken a variety of business classes in a program. It assessed basic business concepts, business communication, personal finance, marketing, and some management. Exams need to be taken on a computer at your location with a testing proctor.

This three credit course offered at Macomb Community College discusses the practical application of hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) power management systems. Areas of study include computer controls of the internal combustion engine (ICE), battery types, HEV thermal management, motors, safety, and HEV/EV accessories. System types, service procedures, and diagnostic procedures are covered for Ford, General Motors, Honda, and Lexus/Toyota vehicles. Included educational materials for this course are homework, sample exams and quizzes, labs, lesson plans, pre-assessment, and syllabus. Solutions are not provided with any materials. 1.) Theory Learning Goals:
a.) Understanding theoretical perspectives in academic administration, finance and management including the Microtechnique constructions TORI and noesis as well as some organizational principles from General System Theory Squared, GST2, (GST2 by Lindblom). The course is in exploration of complex systems thinking (Microtechnique) (in The Psychology of Administration and Management and includes elements from The Psychology of Consciousness for the purposes of hypothesis foundation and elements from General System Theory Squared (GST2) for method.
b.) Assessment and appraisal of Microtechnique scholarly research and writing in areas of psychology.

2.) Learning Goals:
a.) General application of psychological theory in Microtechnique management.
b.) Reflection on application of Microtechnique theory and design methodology in theoretical research and action research including practical investigation of ideas, norms, and change strategies in Management.

Using students' step length to understand the relationship between distance, speed and acceleration. Includes graphing of data and interpretation of graphs.

Students make a wheel and axle out of cardboard and a wooden dowel. It is rooled along a ramp made of parallel meter sticks, and the acceleration can be made small enough to make accurate measurements and calculations.

In this lab exercise, students practice correctly using measurement tools, recording data, calculating density, using significant figures, and exploring the concepts of accuracy and precision.

This activity is acid-base titration lab where students determine the percent of calcium carbonate in an eggshell.

After learning about introductory Business Law concepts (typically within the first unit of a Business Law course), students will complete research about current events surrounding administrative law. Students will work in teams to research a government agency, it's purpose, current court cases, and potential court cases.
