This series of 5 high-quality, standards-aligned, inquiry-based activities and two environmental STEM challenge activities have been field-tested by kindergarten students and families of Wequiock Children's Center for Environmental Science during Safer At Home orders. These activities encourage students to use natural areas around their homes and in their neigbhorhoods as they improve their science observation and reasoning skils as they explore the science of pushes and pulls in nature. The materials used are ones generally available at home and the activites require little preparation on the part of caregivers. Created as a part of a WISELearn OER Innovation project, Connect, Explore, and Engage: Using the Environment as the Context for Science Learning was a collaboration of the Wequiock Children's Center for Environmental Science and the Wisconsin Green Schools Network. One of the goals of the project was to create standards-aligned lessons that utilize the outdoor spaces of the school (as well as those of the students' homes).  Each section of this resource is an individual activity. Children who grow up in urban environments face unique challenges in accessing quality of life opportunities.  These barriers can be financial, logistical, systemically impacted by racism and simply due to a lack of access.  Nike Got it Right seeks to encourage youth to become active, potentially outside of their comfort zones and/or get involved in wellness activities that may be new to their cultural background.  

This is an semster class where students create their own workouts and culminate with a presentation on their lessons learned and reflections of what worked and what did not. This is cross cirricular using an English and Phy-ed educators in order to full assess the students knowledge.

Meet the GIRL!: Lizzy is 18 years old and an athlete and a leader. She was born with spina bifida and has embraced herself and her GIRL Power. She is an archer as well as a basketball player. She played as a point guard for the Rollin Rockets in Charlotte NC. She has the goal of playing for the U.S. National team one day in the Paralympics and she has the tenacity to get there!

With the purpose of assisting Wisconsin middle and high school students to better understand the various aspects of Academic and Career Planning, CESA 10 has reached out to past graduates. Young professionals will share information about their chosen occupation, as well as career-related experiences during high school that were beneficial in discovering their own ACP journey.
