This ‘Tournament of Presidents’ activity gives students an opportunity to evaluate the presidents using a "bracket style" competition. Students will examine individual leadership characteristics that are key to the success of the chief executive. Students will utilize C-SPAN Presidential resources with special emphasis on the C-SPAN's 2021 Historians Survey of President Leadership.

In this lab exercise, students practice correctly using measurement tools, recording data, calculating density, using significant figures, and exploring the concepts of accuracy and precision.

" This studio will investigate the social, programmatic, tectonic and phenomenological performance and character of a student gathering place on the MIT campus. Whether it is simply for socializing or for more specific events, the student gathering place will serve as a refuge from the vigorous educational environment of the Institute, and it will reinforce a critical sense of "place" through the almost logical organization of its program. The place will foster a casual discovery of "being": a reflection upon the student's own existence based upon participation in group events and an intellectual attitude toward acting. To create a space that inspires, rather than imposes: such a discovery is the foremost challenge of this studio."

In this fun activity, you will investigate some of the processes that happen in the water cycle-inside a small plastic bag.

Participants will use a tube and bead (or ball) model to visualize and predict how changes in sea level can control the lateral and vertical facies distribution within and adjacent to a marine sedimentary basin. They will also critique the model and identify shortcomings and assumptions involved in the model. Participants will use their knowledge to draw a sea-level curve for Paleozoic rocks of the Central Midwest.

There is a national park within a day's drive of most communities in the U.S. where you can connect in person with the land and stories that shaped the character of our nation. You can also experience these parks in another way - from space.

On this DVD you can visit over 60 national parks from the vantage point of space and read articles selected from NASA's Earth Observatory website describing how satellite observations can help people better understand our geoheritage. Space-based views provide useful information on natural processes and human impacts affecting the Earth's surface within and outside of protected areas. For example, landscape changes caused by shifting vegetation types (Great Smoky Mountains), rainfall (Death Valley), glacial retreat (Glacier Bay), fire (Tallgrass Prairie) and climate change can all be observed from space.

In this lesson, students will compare weather and climate, explain patterns over time and make observations by creating a rain gauge.
