Abraham Lincoln's Crossroads is an educational game based on the traveling exhibition Lincoln: The Constitution & the Civil War, which debuted at the National Constitution Center in June 2005.
The online game is intended for advanced middle- and high-school students. It invites them to learn about Lincoln's leadership by exploring the political choices he made. An animated Lincoln introduces a situation, asks for advice and prompts players to decide the issue for themselves, before learning the actual outcome. At the end of the game, players discover how frequently they predicted Lincoln's actions. A Resources Page keyed to each chapter provides links to relevant Websites on Lincoln and the Civil War, permitting students to explore issues in more depth.

This resource is a full tutorial on the organelles of an animal cell. The online animation includes interaction with the organelles. As you click on the organelles their function and definition pop up along with relevant animations. After completing the organelle tutorial the site offers an animal cell organelle game to check a student's understanding along with a quiz.
This resource could be used as a precursor to direct instruction allowing student's to explore the organelles and their function prior to a formal teacher led lesson. In this math activity, learners explore the history of the Stomachion (an ancient tangram-type puzzle), use the pieces to create other figures, learn about symmetry and transformations, and investigate the areas of the pieces. The Stomachion, believed to have been created by Archimedes, consists of 14 pieces cut from a square, which can be rearranged to form other interesting shapes.

In this lesson plan students conduct a survey of ten students, collect data in a tally chart, and then display and analyze the results in a bar graph. In the analysis students must compare numbers, add, and subtract using the data in the bar graph to generate questions as well as answer them. The lesson plan includes a graph template, a link to an interactive graphing tool, extension questions, and a fact family sheet to show the related facts from their graph analysis.
This resource is an example of modeling the line of best fit by plotting the number of rubber bands that form a bungee cord and how far a Barbie doll can bungee jump with the length of cord. Students calculate the line of best fit by hand and using a graphing calculator. They interpret key parts of the line such as slope and y-intercept.
The consideration of cord length is very important in a bungee jumpŰÓtoo short, and the jumper doesn't get much of a thrill; too long, and ouch! In this lesson, students model a bungee jump using a Barbieĺ¨ doll and rubber bands. The distance to which the doll will fall is directly proportional to the number of rubber bands, so this context is used to examine linear functions.
