This is a Wisconsin-based case study with data on how the size and distance of an island from the mainland can affect the number of different types of carnivores found on the island (Species Richness). Students are asked to graph data collected from the Apostle Islands and make a claim evidence and reasoning statement supported by data.

Florida is experiencing mass fish kills and disrupting Florida shoreline. The Red Tide has become more prevalent and hanging on longer.This is an inquiry-based 2018 video with questions to get the students to think about the worst red tides in years. The Red Tide is disrupting the Florida coastal ecosystem. Changes in the weather are making changes near the sea shore.

This is an inquiry-based video with questions to get students to think about cloud formation and convection winds. This particular phenomenon is morning glory cloud formation. Students are prompted to think about weather patterns, how clouds form, how land and water effect cloud formation. Use to begin a lesson on clouds.

In this activity students look at images of white-tailed deer behavior and use their observations to write a research question. They describe the types of observations they will make and the data they will record to turn a question into a hypothesis. This activity was developed as a part of the Creating Lessons Using Transformative Technology - Platteville Public Schools OER grant.

Lake Superior plays a vital role in the lives of people who live and work on its shores, and therefore all sorts of data are recorded to help understand and take care of it. Forrest, a high school student, used data from archives to figure out if the ice season was getting shorter each winter in his home town. The length of the ice season is important because it frees the island residents from working around a ferry schedule, allowing them to drive on the ice to get to the mainland.
