Poverty and homelessness, food insecurity, substance and alcohol abuse, social pressure and anxiety and depression all impact a student’s ability to learn, not to mention the acute struggles that have arisen from the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating the pressures students feel on a daily basis. Widely viewed as an integral part of the American education system, social-emotional learning (SEL) helps young people navigate the challenges and stressors of life in and outside the classroom.
With the purpose of assisting Wisconsin middle and high school students to better understand the various aspects of Academic and Career Planning, CESA 10 has reached out to past graduates. Young professionals will share information about their chosen occupation, as well as career-related experiences during high school that were beneficial in discovering their own ACP journey.
