The Branches of the United States' Government worksheet and quiz was created for the CESA #1 EL OER Project. Students will be able to identify and describe the three branches of the United States' government after watching various videos. The graphic organizer will allow ELs to demonstrate their understanding of the three government branches by identifying, defining, and describing the three branches.

This is a quick activity that gives students a visual of what is happening when we talk about global warming.

Students will construct a distance model of the solar system to scale, using colored beads as planets. The chart below shows the planets and asteroid belt in order, along with their distance from the sun in astronomical units

This lesson guides students in an examination of a poet's use of figurative language and word choice to convey themes of belonging and identity.  Students will delve into the concept of the unit theme, “Belonging” and the essential question, "In what ways does our need to feel a sense of belonging conflict with our individuality?" I saw online that there were a lot of resources that families could access, but felt that the choices were overwhelming to parents and kids who were looking for some fun and educational things to do online. I narrowed down the sources and put them onto a manageable site that is easy for kids and parents to use. The use of technology is encouraged in schools and at home in order to support student engagement. With technology, I hope to inspire the STEM leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
