This activity has the students design a children's menu/activity mat while using Adobe products. This activity was performed by teaming up with a local family pa restaurant. A restaurant owner came into the classroom to teach a little bit about entrepreneurship and to communicate the exact needs of their menus that would be intended for children. The children would then use crayons to help entertain themselves while waiting for their meals.

For this lesson, students adopt a dinosaur and search the web for facts about their critter. Using the information collected, they complete the fact sheet and provide a drawing of their dinosaur. To provide an added challenge, require students to create one question for their classmates from information provided by their project. Use the questions to create a Dinosaur Scavenger Hunt and allow the students to explore all the projects to discover the answers.

Social determinants of learning (SDOL) impact students’ abilities to successfully complete their courses. An economic barrier for vulnerable students is the skyrocketing cost of textbooks. An innovative strategy to promote equity in educational delivery is the adoption of open educational resources (OER). The Open Resources for Nursing (Open RN) project published five OER textbooks with input from over 65 contributors and 300 reviewers. Open RN textbooks have received widespread national and international usage. Analysis of student outcomes indicates similar successful course completion rates by all students in OER course sections and increased rates of successful course completion by non-White students.

The traditional approach to geospatial analysis is the intuitive technique. In order to improve analysis, relatively uncomplicated methods exist to help intelligence analysts structure their analysis. These structured methods, which can be applied to a broad range of problems, provide a scientific-like and demonstrable approach to analysis that can enhance the intelligence analyst objectivity. Structured methodologies do not replace the subjective insight of the intelligence analyst. Instead, the intent is to use a logical framework to illustrate and capitalize on intuition, experience, and judgment. A structured methodology provides a traceable and repeatable means to reach a conclusion. Significant for us, structured methods have significant value in that they can be taught. Structured methodologies are severely neglected in the geospatial realm. This course teaches the theory and practice behind a structured analytic method designed for geospatial intelligence, with particular emphasis given to selecting and applying appropriate analysis techniques to create and test hypotheses. Students will assess the various connotative biases and spatial fallacies that interfere with sound spatial thinking. Students also appraise basic analysis techniques including imagination, diagnostic, and challenging & reframing.

A comprehensive treatment of the advanced methods of applied mathematics. Designed to strengthen the mathematical abilities of graduate students and train them to think on their own. Review of elementary methods in complex analysis, ordinary differential equations, and partial differential equations.
