MBA Research and Curriculum Center has crosswalked the Wisconsin Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship standards and the Wisconsin Common Career Technical Standards with its own National Standards for Business Administration. MBA Research standards are unique in education: They are based on business practitioner research that utilizes focus groups, interviews, business association standards, and certifcation criteria. They provide up-to-date information on the skillsets being used every day in the workplace. To access this crosswalk, download the document found in the Resource Library. This crosswalk shows the alignment of MME/WCCTS standards with MBA Research standards, as well as the gaps. It also includes a list of LAP instructional modules that MBA Research offers for many of the standards identified. To access all of these modules, go to the MBA Learning Center.

Middle School Social Studies Standards Based Curriculum

This project is addressing the needs of a consistent standards-based curriculum for our middle school. The new Wisconsin Social Studies Standards have altered what needs to be taught at all levels and our current middle school social studies curriculum does not address these standards. We are also in a situation that several teachers teach social studies along with other subjects and this curriculum will address the need for consistency and providing these teachers with exact objectives and standards for their classrooms. The project's intended audience is middle school teachers and students. Grades 6-8. The anticipated impact is that students taught under this curriculum will have a solid base of knowledge in all areas of the social sciences. This will impact their ability to be successful in future social studies classes- specifically high school classes that are more specific and will build off the knowledge learned in middle school. It will also impact the teachers that will be teaching the curriculum as it will provide a well-laid out plan and expectations that will hopefully make their planning easier and more consistent. This will also in term alleviate some of the issues the high school teachers are currently seeing with students coming in with a weak knowledge base.

Though the primary audience is state and local policymakers, administrators also play an important role in providing discretion for teachers to implement the CCSS. The recommendations apply to school leaders as much as policymakers at a higher level.

Open Educational Resources (OER) offer opportunities for increasing equity and access to high-quality K–12 education. Many state education agencies now have offices devoted to identifying and using OERs and other digital resources in their states. To help states, districts, teachers, and other users determine the degree of alignment of OERs to the Common Core State Standards, and to determine aspects of quality of OERs, Achieve has developed eight rubrics in collaboration with leaders from the OER community.

" This course provides you with a framework to understand the structure and dynamics of high-tech businesses, together with an approach for their effective strategic management. It is focused on domains in which systems are important, because either or both products are parts of larger and more complex systems, or they are comprised of systems. The domains covered include computing, communications (in particular the mobile and IP domains), consumer electronics, industrial networking, automotive, aerospace and medical devices. The course will be of particular interest to those interested in managing a business in which technology will likely play a major role, and also to those interested in investing in or providing counsel to these businesses. The emphasis throughout is on the development and application of ways of thinking or mental models that bring clarity to the complex co-evolution of technological innovation, the demand opportunity, systems architecture, business ecosystems, and decision-making and execution within the business."
