Acceso is a complete, interactive curriculum for intermediate-level learners of Spanish. The materials on the site are provided freely to the public and are intended as a replacement for commercial textbooks, which are generally ill-suited to the learning outcomes now considered crucial to successful language study. As an instructor, you can remix and adapt the resources for your classes. The site is designed around three projects that help you explore your linguistic identities, relationships between language and culture, community connections to Spanish, and lifelong strategies for language learning.

HippoCampus is a project of the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education (MITE). The goal of HippoCampus is to provide high-quality, multimedia content on general education subjects to high school and college students free of charge. HippoCampus was designed as part of Open Education Resources (OER), a worldwide effort to improve access to quality education for everyone.

Studies important twentieth-century texts from Spain and Latin America that represent the principal fictional genres--poetry, theatre, short story, and the novel. Includes works by Bombal, Lorca, Neruda, Vallejo, Machado, and GarcĚ_a MĚÁrquez. Taught in Spanish. Subject offered Spring 2003 and Fall 2004.

Interdisciplinary introduction to contemporary Latin America, drawing on films, literature, popular press accounts, and scholarly research. Topics include: economic development, ethnic and racial identity, religion, revolution, democratization, transitional justice, the rule of law, and the changing roles of women. Country examples draw on a range of countries in the region, especially Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

Studies the major social, political, and aesthetic modes which have shaped Spanish civilization. Coordinates the study of literature, film, art, and architecture with the historical evolution of Spain. Readings and discussions focus on such topics as: the coexistence of Christians, Moors, and Jews; Imperial Spain; The First and Second Republics; and the contemporary period as background for the emergence of distinctively Spanish literary and artistic movements. Taught in Spanish. This course has several purposes. The major concern will be the examination of Spanish culture including Spain's history, architecture, art, literature and film, to determine if there is a uniquely Spanish manner of seeing and understanding the world - one which emerges as clearly distinct from our own and that of other Western European nations.

This is an activity for students to demonstrate how an animal or insect can disperse seeds or pollinate a plant by creating a model. 

As part of the Worcester State University OER initiative in Spring 2017, Dr. Elizabeth Osborne created and translated course materials for her SP 322, Advanced Spanish Composition II, course. Materials have been divided into peer review (revisión por pares) handouts, close reading activities (actividades de lectura detallada) and other miscellaneous materials. The materials included here are by no means exhaustive, but they serve as a starting point to making education affordable and to filling the gap in Spanish-language OER for upper division courses.

Gives students the necessary language skills to successfully employ Spanish in a variety of social situations. Focuses on oral communication and uses popular media for listening practice. This seminar addresses the inherent challenges of translating poetry from different languages, cultures and eras. Students do some translation of their own, though accommodations are made if a student lacks even a basic knowledge of any foreign language.

This Wikibook aims to teach the Spanish language from scratch. It will cover all of the major grammar rules, moving slowly and offering exercises and plenty of examples. It's not all grammar though, as it offers vocabulary and phrases too, appealing to all learners. By the end, you should be able to read and write Spanish skilfully, though you'll need a human to help with listening and speaking.

The videos allow students to learn authentic Spanish and experience its cultural diversity while following a good story full of surprises and human emotions. Students also listen to an audio-only program integrated with the text and workbook. In the classroom, students do a variety of activities and exercises, which include talking in Spanish about the video program, practicing pronunciation and grammar, and interacting in Spanish with classmates in pairs and small groups. The class is conducted in Spanish as much as possible, but English is used where necessary for clarity and efficiency. This course deals with all basic language skills: aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. This class assumes no previous knowledge of Spanish.

Aims at consolidation and expansion of skills in listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. These versatile job flashcards are a great tool to help students learn how to say different jobs and careers in Spanish and English.There are two different kinds of job flashcards. There are those that have an image of a person working in a particular job, along with a clear label stating what their job is in English. Then for each job there is a matching card in Spanish, except without the picture and including both the feminine and masculine words.

This course meets the standards of a third year Native Speaker Spanish course while incorporating Health Science and Medical Technology (HSMT) themes, with a focus on the Public and Community Health Pathway.  Taught exclusively in the target language, this course begins with a focus on personal health, then broadens the context and scope to include family, community and public health, and health careers. Students acquire knowledge of a range of public health issues including physical, mental and social.  They apply their understanding of public policies to promote health-positive behaviors among individuals, families and the community. Through a range of real-world situations, students demonstrate understanding of culturally appropriate Spanish and the nuances of language across the Spanish-speaking world, as they engage in advanced listening, speaking, reading and writing activities.   Students use a full range of academic Spanish vocabulary, with emphasis on health terminology, in present, past, future, subjunctive and perfect tenses.
