CESA #1 EL OER Project

This resource has 6 different graphic organizers that can be used to support English learners across different grade levels and content area subjects. Once you chose the most appropriate organizer for your content area I would suggest to have an EL use the same organizer for all units. Graphic organizers are essential learning tools for English learners.

ABC EXERCISE CARDS is a great resource for ELs and it can teach a new vocabulary ( such as verbs) in a fun and engaging way. This resource uses EL strategy : total physical response and the whole classroom could do this activity.

CESA #1 EL OER Project

This lesson was created to support newcomer ELs ( level 1 and 2) and young ELs ( all levels) in speaking. First, students learn some background information regarding jobs They are introduced some new vocabulary. Students will have opportunity to share in a small group discussion their feedback about various jobs. At the end students have opportunity to talk about their favorite job and finally they get to compare/contrast two specific jobs. Similar concept can be used for different topics.
