When we set our goals, we want to be sure that we are working towards something we want to ACHIEVE and simply make ourselves better. Self goals are in fact goals to better ourselves NOT the people around us. Remain true to you!

This project consisted in connecting studnets with Hispanic professionals so they could learn about their experiences and challenges they had to overcome to get to the possition they are currently in. Disciplinary Literacy resources are included because reading, writing, speaking, and listening in this content area are critical skills for students to master if they are pursuing careers in this content area.

Student groups create working radios by soldering circuit components supplied from AM radio kits. By carrying out this activity in conjunction with its associated lesson concerning circuits and how AM radios work, students are able to identify each circuit component they are soldering, as well as how their placement causes the radio to work. Besides reinforcing lesson concepts, students also learn how to solder, which is an activity that many engineers perform regularly giving students a chance to be able to engage in a real-life engineering activity.

Using ARIS open-source platform, students create a scavenger hunt/game for district students to explore local community career opportunities.  

The ASK exams are an industry certification that students can take and they are also listed on the approved list for CTE Incentive grants. There are 5 different exams that students can take: Fundamental Business Concepts, Fundamental Marketing Concepts, Concepts of Finance, Concepts of Entrepreneurship and Management, and Fundamentals of Ethics.

The Fundamental Business Concepts would be great for any student that has taken a variety of business classes in a program. It assessed basic business concepts, business communication, personal finance, marketing, and some management. Exams need to be taken on a computer at your location with a testing proctor.
