This lesson teaches students about human resources management. First, use the Discussion Guide (found in Task 1) to teach students about this concept. Then, use the activity (found in Task 2) to assess their understanding. This activity gives students the chance to interview working professionals about their experience with HR management. How Does a Food Product Get To a Customer?

This lesson will allow students to think about and understand the route that a food service product takes in order to get to the customer from start (customer ordering) to finish (delivery to customer). Students will also brainstorm and research the different departments/specific careers that are needed in order to accomplish this goal of food service distribution. ServSafe will also be explored since we are discussing products that are food related.

The Professional Interview allows a student to explore a specific career of interest by talking to a professional about their work duties, place of employment, and career path. This project is ideal for the situation where a job shadow is not possible.  This project includes two attachments in the resource library which cover the guidelines and requirements of this project. Waunakee Community High School students take a course called Career Workshop at the sophomore level.  They are required to choose two enhancement projects from a list of options.  Students have access to shared Google Docs related to these projects.  The Job Shadow is one of these options.  Other options that may be found under WISELearn Resources include an Infographic, Web Portfolio, Career Presentation, Career Cruising Video Project, and Job Shadow.
