This 2-lesson unit offers a variety of activities and games to help students master multiplication facts with 6 and 7 as factors. It is intended for students who understand the process of multiplication and have mastered the facts where 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are factors. Students make use of the effects and properties of multiplication, write and solve story problems, and develop materials and strategies to assist in becoming fluent with the facts. The unit includes questions for students and teachers, a printable multiplication chart, extension ideas, and link to a Virtual Spinner and an online Times Table applet (both catalogued separately).

This lesson unit is intended to help teachers assess how well students are able to identify and use geometrical knowledge to solve a problem. In particular, this unit aims to identify and help students who have difficulty in: making a mathematical model of a geometrical situation; drawing diagrams to help with solving a problem; identifying similar triangles and using their properties to solve problems; and tracking and reviewing strategic decisions when problem-solving.

In this data analysis lesson students explore various representations, including bar graphs, steam-and-leaf plots, and box-and-whisker plots, to analyze the frequency of letters in the names of the 50 states. Weather and Climate Nature Journaling - This unit overview describes five field experience opportunities to engage students in studies of weather, forecasting and weather hazards. Each experience explains ways to incorporate science journaling, math, tech and literacy. 

This lesson from Illuminations helps students to begin to develop an understanding of area by using a Java applet on the computer. Learners use 12" × 12" paper squares to measure the area of a door and determine whether area increases or decreases as the length or width of their door changes.
