Through this activity, students will be able to explore the role of mass distribution as cylinders roll down an incline.
Students will roll two cylinders filled with the same mass, but distributed differentlly. Students will predict which one reaches the bottom faster.
Using easily accessible materials, this activity can be conducted in the classroom.

Motion and forces using roller coaster physics

When teaching forces and motion this activity visualizes to the students the effect forces have on the motion of a roller coaster. It stimulates students in a way that makes learning about  forces involved in riding a roller coaster fun and excitin. Giving students choices on increasing or decreasing these forces gives them a real understanding on the cause and effect of their choices and its effect on the roller coaster and its occupants.
