The Visual Patterns resources provides teachers with a "patter of the day."  Once a pattern has been selected, teachers can ask the students for the following types of responses:
1)  Written descriptions of the pattern
2)  Numerical representations of the pattern
3)  A rule or formula that can be used to generate the pattern
4)  Ways of using current mathematical vocubulary to classify the patterns being discussed
5)  Create a new sequence with the same pattern as the one represented
