Math Tracking Tool

This is a digital tracking tool so that students can monitor their progress towards reaching the standards and learning targets. Although this has been created as a digital tool, it can easily be printed if students don’t have access to an electronic device.

Math Tracking Tool

  1.  Make a copy of the “Math tracking tool” document and name it accordingly. Choose the grade level band appropriate for you (Grades 1-3 or Grades 4-6).
  1. Adding the unit in which the standard is covered in your curriculum is recommended, so that the document can be reorganized to better match your curriculum.
  1. Enter the unit/lesson in which the standard is covered.
  2. Click on column A at the top of your sheet.
  3. Right click and go down to “Sort A-Z”.

(If your platform doesn’t allow sorting, you may need to “unmerge” the cells.)

  1. Add features relevant to your needs, such as power standards, big ideas, learning targets, and success criteria.
  2. When you have your sheet set up to meet your needs, the recommendation is to make a copy for each student.
  1. These can then be printed and put into a student’s portfolio -or-
  2. Digital folders can be created for each student and this sheet can be added in that manner.

Kid Friendly Sheet

This form looks similar to the first sheet, but simplified for the students. You may want to share the Kid Friendly Sheet with students and use the Math Tracking Tool as a teacher resource.

Student Form

This form is a tool for students to use to track their progress on identified power standards. This would work well in a student data binder. Ideally, you will print multiple sheets for each power standard you have in every subject area. The power standard should be written in large letters on the top of the form so students can easily find the standard they are looking for in their sheets.

There are also grade appropriate “weekly” forms, if you’d rather have your students track their weekly progress, vs. progress on a specific power standard.
