Am I a member of a privileged or oppressed group based on my socioeconomic status?
My current socio-economic class is privileged, however, I did grow up in the inner city with 2 working class parents and was considered and identified as both privileged in that both my parents were working and could afford to provide the basics for me without government assistance and oppressed in that we were black, low income and lliving in inner city.

Which socio-economic class is centered in this resource? The resource focus is not on any particular socio-economic class. Although it does make assumptions about what is considered everyday household appliances, and that everyone has access to the internet.

What explicit or implicit messages about socioe-conomic classes might students internalize? Students may receive the message that everyone has access to the internet as well as all of the other items mentioned in the lesson.

How might my students see themselves in this resource? While the majority of the students at my school qualify for free or reduced lunch, the majority of them are also familiar with the internet (as evidenced by the number of smartphones colleted each morning) and how to interact with it. Though they may be unfamiliar with one of the appliances used in the lesson, they are familiar with a lock and a bar of soap, and can get the basic idea of the comparisons as well as benefit from the exercise. I would remix this resource by providing opportunities for the students to provide their own authentic items to compare and contrast to digital citizenship.
