Our group designed standards-aligned writing lesson plans to supplement the lessons provided in Journeys for grades K-5. We utilized the gradual release of responsibility framework; identified teacher vs. student responsibilities; added a celebration of writing; and attached assessment options to each of the writing lesson plans.
