Learning Activities:
Read Aloud- We Are Still Here! Discuss the impact the topics have on the present day for the country as well as Native Americans while reading.
After the read-aloud teacher will lead a discussion to help students brainstorm possible research topics related to Native Americans. The teacher can start by listing topics from the story on chart paper for the class to reference. Each student will choose a topic.
Students will work independently to create a slide defining their chosen topic and how it affects the present day.
Students will share their research with the class.
