# 3D Modeling of Volume and Surface Area

Overview / Description:

Students will create a 3D model comprised of 3 different shapes. This will be done with Play-doh or in Tinkercad.  They will then find the Volume and Surface Area of the composite 3D shape.

Learning goals/objectives:

After completing this activity, students should be able to . . .

Find the Volume of a composite shape.

Find the Surface Area of a composite shape.

Content Standards:

#### Explain volume formulas and use them to solve problems

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.HSG.GMD.A.1

#### CCSS.MATH.PRACTICE.MP6 Attend to precision.
