Overview / Description:  Students will work in small groups and prepare an appropriate work readiness warmup program based on a particular company that they are assigned.  

Learning goals/objectives:   After completing this activity, students should be able to . . .

  • evaluate various businesses and types of physical movement
  • discuss their findings
  • present a 4-5 minute warmup for employees at a business
  • relate physical education to the workplace

(i.e. local examples = KI, Aarrowcast, Red Rooster, World Wide Signs, Morton Builders, Knope Heating and Cooling, Tweet Garot, Bonduel School District)  Teacher  15 minutes
     
     
     


Assessment: Group Activity Rubric

Wrap-Up:  Students will vote on which explanation and warmup was the best.

Extension Activity (for intervention or enrichment): 

Have the HR Department from a local business such as KI Bonduel to discuss why they use pre-work warmups and the research supporting this. Students could research information on why companies are using work readiness warmups and their results.
