How Much Will I Need to Retire?

1. Start by having students make a copy of the spreadsheet.
2. Now ask: "How many of you plan to be millionaires?" Perhaps a few students will raise their hands.
3. Now ask: "How many of you plan to retire?" Likely most students will raise their hands.
4. Explain to students that today we're going to walk through a simulation that explains how if you plan to retire comfortably...you NEED to have retirement account(s) with at least $1,000,000. 
5. From there, walk students through the spreadsheet and calculation tools, as explained in the video, being sure to pause for discussion and clarification as needed.
