Goal setting is powerful and critical life skill. Goals allow us to turn our vision of the future into our reality. Goals provide us short-term direction and long-term vision.
To set big life goals, we must first dream big and create a list of all the things we would like to see, do, and accomplish throughout our lifetime. From there, we can set small goals that are measurable and achievable. Then, we get to work!
Goals can be integrated into all areas of our life. We can strive to be more successful in our classes, faster on the court, or active every day. Goal setting is about making ourselves better, happier, and healthier.
For the rest of the school year, we are going to set goals related to our academic success, personal well-being, and career preparation. When we set our goals, we want to be sure that we are working towards something we want to ACHIEVE and simply make ourselves better. Self goals are in fact goals to better ourselves NOT the people around us. Remain true to you!

This activity has the students design a children's menu/activity mat while using Adobe products. This activity was performed by teaming up with a local family pa restaurant. A restaurant owner came into the classroom to teach a little bit about entrepreneurship and to communicate the exact needs of their menus that would be intended for children. The children would then use crayons to help entertain themselves while waiting for their meals.

Each slide has a letter of the alphabet and associated animal or ecology term. Educators can use this as a daily activity, introducing one slide each day, or present all in one sitting. The activity utilizes photographs from Snapshot Wisconsin trail cameras (except where noted) and can be used to assist in introducing the Snapshot Wisconsin program.

After reading To Kill a Mockingbird, students will continue to study the theme of taking a stand as they finish the novel. They will develop their argument writing skills through scaffolded writing lessons, culminating in a literary analysis essay in which they argue whether or not it made sense, based on Atticus’s character, for him to have taken a stand and defend Tom Robinson.

Students then create an art show for to feature their artists and the artists' paintings/sculptures/artwork. Students, pretending to be artists, are interviewed on video alongside their artwork. This video will be shown as part of the exhibition.

In the 1870’s, the United States Government began a system of education for Native Americans in the U.S. Richard Pratt, a military veteran of the Civil War, was chosen to lead a school intended to assimilate Native American children into white American culture. Students there would be forced to cut their hair, speak the English language, change their names to Christian names, and change from their traditional religious beliefs to Christianity. Pratt founded the Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, PA in 1873. The boarding schools would have a profoundly negative impact upon generations of Native Americans and forced many to lose contact with their traditional culture. Several boarding schools were operated in Wisconsin, including one in Lac du Flambeau, WI.

Students complete an inquiry lab, typically at home or in a lab kitchen. They can split a recipe into fourths, use the original as a control and modify three other versions, increasing, decreasing or changing one ingredient. For example, we have found that reducing the butter by half or reducing the sugar by half does not significantly change the overall quality of baked sweets and can reduce their negative health impacts.
